Description: This position is that of an Executive Assistant within Torridon Law PLLC in Washington, DC. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Executive Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support one of our senior partners and senior counsels in all aspects of legal work at a litigation and investigations boutique. You should be highly dependable and capable of handling sensitive information with discretion, maintaining confidentiality in all legal and client matters.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Serving as the principal administrative point of contact for one of the top executive senior attorneys and other attorney staff of the firm. Independently manages the executive senior leaders’ calendars, executes their travel plans, prepares and arranges for briefing materials, and organizes meetings and conferences, etc.
- Assisting with the coordination of travel logistics, including transportation, flights, accommodation and resolving problems related to last-minute changes or cancellations. Supports the efficient handling of logistics while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
- Coordinating and preparing memoranda, talking points, briefing materials, reports, spreadsheets, charts and other documentation ensuring correct formatting, grammar, and punctuation in accordance with Firm.
- Managing the workflow of documents, physical and electronic, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Utilizing a variety of office automations and automated data processing systems and software programs to successfully accomplish duties.
- Providing a variety of other administrative support to include expense reports for your principals and employee engagement and internal communications.
- Organize and maintain files, both electronic and physical, to ensure efficient case management.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, court appearances, and depositions.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and court personnel.
- Independently develop charts, briefings, etc. for specific projects.
- Front desk full-time coverage; greet clients/visitors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher (preferably in legal studies, business administration, or related field). Paralegal certification or legal assistant certification is a plus, but not required.
- 3–7+ years supporting attorneys (especially partners or senior counsel).
- Experience with civil litigation, corporate law, trusts & estates, or specialty practices is valuable.
- Strong proficiency with: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Legal practice management systems (e.g., Clio, iManage, Elite, or similar), Document management tools, Billing/time entry software
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong proofreading and formatting capabilities.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, court filing rules, deadlines, and document types.
- Ability to summarize legal documents for attorneys.
- High discretion and confidentiality handling sensitive cases.
- Ability to multitask and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and reliable under pressure.
